ACTBLUE TOOK MONEYS FROM ME UNDER A FALSE PRETENSE OF 'RECURRING'
- Rip off
Preferred solution: Full refund
Now my credit card company appears to be as incompetent as ActBlue! Who is working at these places?
Not only am I sure that I unchecked the box, but they also made a series(3) of the same charge when I went back to the receipt to change the recurring charge from 12 months to 0 months. My credit card company seems to actually be making it worse.
I demanded a fraud investigation which seemed to get Actblues attention and they made my recurring account inactive. Meanwhile the card company, after getting me to close the card and open a new one, is now paying ActBlue the recurring charges (plural). I feel like it’s the twightlite zone or maybe I’m stuck in ground hog day. so how are they paying ActBlue and ActBlue has no record of it in my account with them?
Where is the $? Floating in cyberspace? I know that I now will have to deal with the card company as well as ActBlue.
The never ending nightmare and saga of trying to help out a candidate I approved of, but didn’t want to give my life savings to. We’re not all wealthy like the Koch’s.

Act Blue is still stealing
I made a one time donation to Doug Jones back in December, 2017, via ActBlue. ONE TIME.
Today is Jan. 6, 2018, and I received an emailed receipt for my CONTINUING contribution this morning. ActBlue STOLE $25 from my checking account. I had read that this is a problem with ActBlue, but hadn't expected it to happen to me.
It did. I have sent them an email demanding they return my money; we'll see if they comply.
I cancelled what they claim is a continuing contribution, and I will never, ever send money to a candidate using Act Blue again. This will, unfortunately, make it less likely that I will contribute to a candidate unless I can find an address to which I may mail a check.

Borderline Criminal Business Practices
On Jan 29, 2018, I attempted to make a one time $25 donation for Beto O'Roarke campaign. I was charged not once, but three times, and was, without my consent, signed up for a monthly recurring charge for each of the 3 donations.
I believe I was able to cancel the recurring charges, but cancelled my card as a precaution. I have contacted ActBlue via email and phone on multiple occasions, without reply.
I have filed a claim with my bank to pursue the matter, and will ensure to report this organization to any and all relevant consumer agencies. I will also ensure to keep others from processing donations through their website.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Being ripped off
Another Victom of ActBlue!
Like others, I have been victomized by ActBlue from their fraudulent behavior of changing my one time donation into a recurring donation. Fortunately I worked with my bank and got all money back.
I encourage everybody who has been in a similar situation to write letters to the candidates or causes that use ActBlue, contact BBB, and contact 60 Minutes show to escalate this issue and make people aware of it. So far I have gotten little response from candidates. I plan to attend public meetings where the candidates are and confront them on this issue and try to get them to commit to investigate it. They more people that do this, the better chance we have to get something done about it.
Write letters to the newspapers. Go full bore!

Financial Reports
I can't find anything, such as financial reports/org charts/officers/owners, on the internet that will give me any information concerning this organization. I was one of the people from which ActBlue took unauthorized monthly donations.
I got them to stop. I did notice that the check-mark for monthly donations is the default setting and unobtrusively displayed. They have since changed that. What is apparent to me is they make tons of money from "tips", make their own campaigns (with lead-in surveys), and I have no way of finding whether donations actually end up in the hands of the "causes".
Do the "causes" know there are campaigns or does ActBlue initiate campaigns on their own?
This inquiring mind wants to know. ActBlue could be on the side of the righteous, but how can I tell for sure?
Preferred solution: Just let me access information my complaint addresses
