ActBlue Fraudulent Charge Tactics
Fraudulent withdrawals of money from my Credit Card
I HATE ACT BLU! While a dedicated progressive with preference for Democratic candidates and causes, I will never again give to any of their fundraising requests that are managed by ACT BLU.
This is based on several of my experiences and others I know. At least on two different occasions, ACT BLU made unauthorized charges against a credit card given for a one time use. They offer no way to delete yourself from their database, or even see your info. They now also have a way of getting automatic updates from Credit card company when you get a new card, with new number.
You CANNOT shake them! They also have been drawing monthly recurring charges on my elderly parents card given for only a one time only charge through Pay Pal. ACT BLU won't respond to their pleas to STOP. This is not only fraudulent but downright elder abuse!
This is FRAUD!!!! A legal Action needs to begin against these unethical trolls!Donors BEWARE OF ACT BLU!!!
Recurring charges (which I have NOT authorized) appeared on my credit card account.
I have contacted my bank and ActBlue and am awaiting replies from both. What I AM going to do, is remove my credit card information from the ActBlue site so they cannot charge my account.
This is fraudl! Another way to get around them charging your account is to put in credit card information from an account that has expired or you have cancelled. The charges then cannot go through! I am SO disgusted with all this campaign fundraising!
Winning elections has become a race to see who can raise the most money. If money is the ONLY way to win, then our whole political system must be revamped.

Act blue
ActBlue hacked my PyPal account
Out of nowhere I suddenly get a thank you email for my continued support of the democratic party. It was Act Blue and they wanted to thank me for the $30.00 donation.
I had never heard of these people, so I looked at my Pay Pal account and sure enough there was a $30.00 donation. The odd thing was that when I look at my present spending (since my last statement) it shows the $30.00 donated three times over the last three months. But if open each individual statement, the charges don't appear?
Now how do they do that? PayPay is looking into it for me .....but don't donate to these guys, they are complete and total rip offs.
Recurring charges, checked box, beware!
I have called Act Blue and while I like the cause, and the fund raising, I have objected to their practice of pre-checking the recurring charges box. I have called, and I have written.
This practice continues. I first unconnected my credit card. I started using PayPal to pay. I diligently unchecked the boxes when donating.
The recurring charges then posted on PayPal. I have stopped them there as well. I cannot donate this way any longer, as they refuse to listen to me. This practice of pre-checking the recurring options box forces careful diligence on the consumer.
I was told that some organizations set it up this way, and others did not, however it is Act Blue that is placing this before its donors. Buyer beware.

ACTBLUE taking unothorized money from my bank account.
I made a one time donation to ACTBLUE thinking it was a donation directly to the DCCC. I'm sure it was a one time donation but they started to automatically take money from my checking account EVERY WEEK.
I think this is a scam operating as a non-profit political organization. I have seen many complaints on the internet about this practice of taking extra money out of peoples accounts by ACTBLUE. If you are a democrat and want to donate, donate directly to the Democratic party (DCCC). It is my opinion that ACTBLUE is aware they are doing this practice without consent because they know either most people won't see the weekly deductions from their bank account or that the donors won't see it until several payments have been made.
Who is the recipient of these donations. Where is ACTBLUE's proof that donations went anywhere.

ActBlue Not Even
Act blue took unauthorized money from our account.
My husband made several donations to various candidates and democratic causes. In each case, although my husband was careful not to sign up for reoccurring donations, Act blue listed him as a reoccurring donor anyway.
In some cases, he was signed up for weekly donations, in others it was monthly. This resulted in our account being overdrawn . By the time we figured out what was happening, we were unable to pay our rent. Either Act blue needs to redesign their donation process, or these"misunderstandings" with our accounts are deliberate.
I find it hard to believe that this could occur as often as it does without Act blue making any attempt prevent these "misunderstandings" from happening. I spent an hour on my computer canceling " reoccurring donations" that neither my husband or myself authorized. When I brought up what happened with our bank account to my sister, I found out that Act blue had taken unauthorized money from her bank account also.
We will not be making anymore donations to anyone through Act Blue. I will also be telling anyone who will listen about what happened to us and encourage anyone who considers donating though Act blue to read the numerous complaints about Act blue's business practices.

Reccuring charges
Since December I have been getting recurring charges on my personal American Express card not authorized to be recurring. They were authorized to be a one time contribution.
At this point you have deducted over $ 10,000.00 from my account and my debt continues to rise! I believe my net statement has an additional charge of $ i,300.00 plus more coming up. Please be in touch with me to resolve this problem and restore my credit. A very dissatisfied contributor, Susan Tatum I have nothing more to say so please respond.
There is no way I can make this a 100 word complaint though maybe I should. Yes, I certainly should. So I continue for your satisfaction. There are now 110 words.
Why are you not satisfied?
And still you do not allow me to process this complaint. There are 131 words now.

This is absolute fraud! I will fight these people. ***
This seems to be a troll.. This complaint is a bit over the top, but there is a remedy..
Or this person is a bit naive about rectifying the bad situation.. I'm not a fan of ActBlu either..
You first do a stop payment with your credit card issuer/bank. Secondly you log into Actblu and make sure you did not set up recurring payments.. You also delete all other cards from your profile.
You will delete your affected card after you have asked for a refund. . Third, you make sure to report to the banks Fraud department that you want to stop any future with drawls from Actblu and suspect they are making illegal withdrawls and that your card account was hacked. Fourth, you get a new card and tell the bank to make sure Visa is notified not to continue to charge you account.
Third. You report them to the better business Bureau for each string of unauthorized transactions, only providing your last 4 digits of the affected card.
Is there any way we can get all our complaints to federal law enforcement agencies? Maybe we can start a petition demanding that Act Blue be investigated for fraud.
