did it to me too, luckily i caught it on my statement. i 'bought' 5 dollars of bumper stickers (which i still have NOT received in July 2018), that charge came in as 5 which is fine, BUT then...
Yes, they scammed you but you should have known they were not telling the truth just by their name and what they pretend to do and who they supposedly represent.

We were donating small amounts to our local democratic candidate for congress using a credit card. On the form they put an option to double the donation, we said no, but they still took the donated amount out twice. As the amounts were small and...- Having them steal my money

The only issue may have been the box checked as a recurring charge. But I had been notified to ask if this was accurate.
So, I will let this go. If I get charged again, I will be back...

I received a receipt-type e-mail from Act Blue for an amount I allegedly donated...I just committed to act blue a one time donation but now I will be watching for recurring charges which I tried to avoid !! I did find it difficult to indicate a one time donation.

They refunded all of my money and apologized the day after I complained through email.

I sent act blue an email telling them to cancel my account. They replied right away apologized and refunded all of my money. If I ever use them again I'm going to make sure I uncheck...

I noticed on my bank statement that actblue was taking money out of my account for the past two months. I never authorized these transactions. tried to contact them only to get a recorded message that advised to...didn't authorize monthly donations, but on my charge card I've been charged.
